I read the Witcher books, and Geralt is a sensitive boi about the whole mutant thing. Multiple times he mutters to himself about how THoSe PeoPLE don't think he has FeElings.
So I just really think he'd be charmed as hell by Netflix Jaskier. It would be big 'I've had him for a day and a half and if anything happened to him I'd kill everyone in this tavern and then myself' energy.
So I imagined what would happen if Book Geralt met Netflix Jaskier that day at that tavern in Posada. (Spoiler he loves him.)

Oh, the delight he'd have daydreaming all the ways he could swoop in and free the grounds around him from their bloodied shackles.
Childish, he thought then, sat in a rickety, overtly overpriced tavern room, stitching together the skin split wide open along his left side, three long gashes right through to the muscle. Changing the world was just about the last thing he'd even consider doing— what the everloving fuck had the world ever done for him?

Summary
After the events of the quest for the dragon, Jaskier is traveling alone. Missing the witcher, but refusing to give in to the need to seek him out. His friend. In his stubborness he has lost his music. Geralt finds the bard, and enlists his help for a job to slay a monstrous King. In doing so forcing Jaskier to take a deeper look on why he was really so upset the witcher left in the first place. As for Geralt...well...he was always fond of his bard.

Summary
Slash, post-fight, ex-friends to lovers fix-it fic (anotha one)! I originally wrote this as a sequel to a diff fic but decided to rewrite it as a new story set some time after the end of season 1.
Geralt and Jaskier parted ways after the mountain and are not on speaking terms, but when Geralt overhears some gossip about the dead bodies of bards showing up throughout the countryside and Jaskier goes missing, the tricky hand of fate forces them together yet again. What starts as an abduction snowballs when Jaskier finds out he is at the center of a sinister plot and Geralt may be the only one who can save him.
It doesn’t help that during their months apart, he came to the grim realization that he is absolutely, incandescently, chest-achingly head over heels in love with the oblivious Witcher. And no, he’s not happy to see him again, even if it is as his rescuer.
