Summary
Pain. Throughout all of Damian's life, all he has known is pain. He feels broken, beaten, and shattered, yet he is so deeply within pain's grasp that he cannot even fathom the idea of being free from its chains. It's still haunting him today, but he can't let it show: pain is weakness, and weakness is pain.
Damian hides behind an impassive mask so that no one can see his suffering—not even his kin. But the mask is starting to crack, the walls are beginning to drop, and his facade of perfect stoicism is slipping, revealing what lies beneath.
If Damian lets them in—lets them see not just him, but him—
Will he fracture into shards of porcelain, piercing anyone who comes close?

Being accepted into the Pre-med Program in Star City, he only has a few months until he moves in.
And Damian knows that nothing is going to change that schedule, Bruce isn’t going to change, Tim is working as the CEO and lives away, Jason doesn’t remember their time together in the league, Steph ignores him most nights, and Dick is always busy.

(Ps I mainly chose lawsuit era so that the kids could be closer in age 🤷🏻 if you don't like lawsuit era fics I swear that it's not super relevant past a certain point in the fic. It's very buddie heavy and cute and silly for the most part)

"Yeah," Tim said as he stood from his place on the couch, "What?"
Alfred seemed to not care in any way about their dismay. "I said that I am busy."
The younger of the two scoffed, marching over to the butler and snapping. "This is absurd! I can understand that you are busy, but to suggest, no, to even think about suggesting Timothy Drake to accompany us—" he motioned to the dogs—"on our walk? Pennyworth, are you out of your mind?!"
"Master Damian, you and I both know this walk is necessary with Master Tim. No one else here is in the place to supervise you. And we spoke about this."
Damian tensed, more so than usual, a rare occurrence at a time such as this. "...fine."
