Flipping the paper around, his eyes went as wide as dinner plates. He looked just as surprised as she did, if not moreso. And it became very apparent that Doppio didn’t pay much attention to the contents of the drawing, he just saw the hair colors and got excited. “Oh! Yeah, it sure looks like it.”
He was smiling.
It was a sweet, nostalgic sort of smile, this time. And oh, it was beautiful. Maria couldn’t remember the last time he looked so soft, so melty and warm.
