Duke slowed mid-step, saring at the cluster of kids marching across the yard, led by a small child with a megaphone, “Uh. Guys? Do my eyes deceive me, or is that Damian leading a protest?”
One of his friends squinted, “Is that an army of middle schoolers?”
At which point, Damian decided to start a chant with his megaphone, enthusiastically joined by his group of middle schoolers, “LIBERTY OR DEATH! LIBERTY OR DEATH!”
“Yeah,” Duke said, watching the group disappear out the gates, and wondering whether he should be texting a Code Red: Subsection 17D to the Batchat. Or maybe this situation was more of a Code Red: Subsection 31F? “That can’t be good.”

Summary
Panicking about his (very) newly discovered feelings for Buck and that he might not actually be as straight as he always thought he was, Eddie goes to an old friend for help. Eddie is worried that Chris might think that Eddie didn't love his mom, so he goes to the obvious source of advice: the gay man who's love for his wife has never been in doubt: Michael Grant.
Essentially: Eddie panics. Michael helps. That's it, that's the plot. (Eddie and Michael are the only characters that actually appear in the story.)
