His vision blurred again and he couldn’t even hear the chime this time, just strange musical notes. He could see the glowing figure dim into the shape of a man. No, no, this couldn’t be hell. After all, hell didn’t have angels.

Summary
Viren doesn't just give up when Harrow talks him down the night of the assassination. He fights and they're able to save Harrow's life. Still, after so many lies and harsh words, their relationship is strained. Viren works to serve his King, regardless of whether Harrow loves him or not. Harrow doesn't know what to believe anymore.
