The shadows are her only company nowadays. Vi's knuckles are still bleeding from her workout earlier, the slow trickle of warmth reminding her that she's still here, still locked away, still alive even when, by all means, she shouldn't be.
The door swings open, and Vi barely turns her head, waiting for the guard to step in. "What did I do this time?" she barks out.
She waits for the taunt for one minute, two minutes. Then, when no voice greets her, Vi finally looks up in full, squinting into the dim light as the empty hallway greets her.
