Mike Wheeler has nothing but time on his hands and no one to disappoint this summer. His father is dead, and he's happily declared an incoming English major for the fall. He's rooming with Lucas and Will in the fall, and the other Party members are only a few blocks away in an apartment. What ever could go wrong in his summer of freedom—his last chance of teenage mundaneness?
They all hug for a few seconds, basking in the silence, until the moment is broken by Max scowling.
"Did one of you just pee?" She asks, eyes darting between Lucas, Mike, and Dustin. "I swear it just got warmer by me."

Summary
Nancy returns to Hawkins for her father's funeral as a very different Nancy Wheeler than her friends and family are familiar with. But she's good at pretending to be who they remember her as. Pretends that she let go of her violent tendencies and hadn't channeled them through targeting rapists. Pretends she doesn't know how to perfectly hide a body. Pretends she's satisfied with her independent but isolated life.
When she runs into a troubled Robin with a problem on her hands, Nancy struggles to pretend that she isn't still hung up on a moment that changed their friendship ten years ago. But the problem ends up being Vickie's husband, who Robin may have, accidentally, murdered.

“You and Buckley?” he clarified. “What’s your thing?”
“We don’t have a thing,” Nancy said, but her eyes drifted back towards Robin. God, Nancy couldn’t deny it. She was adorable.
It was the first time in a long time she'd felt anything other than regret when looking at Robin. She had tried her hardest to erase her previous feelings, to dismiss them as a phase or a mistake or something not meant to be repeated.
But now, as she gazed on Robin’s smiling face, she felt nothing other than a stark sense of longing.
