The air between them hangs heavy with the sound of the sea. “What’s the fucking point, Izzy?” Izzy fumbles for the magic words. It’s a calculus he used to be good at, figuring out what the captain wants to hear. “Izzy?” Ed’s tone rises with the tension of a man unaccustomed to being ignored.
“Could do something legendary,” Izzy hears himself say.
“What?”
“We could do something legendary, captain.”
