Summary
Crown Princess Rhaenyra has just given birth to her first born child— a healthy strapping, true born prince of the realm.
Queen Alicent thinks that she can make pronouncements concerning the babe to remind the court she is Queen. She believes a higher rank is enough to humble Rhaenyra, cast doubts on the child, ruin her happy day, and draw power back to the greens.
Unfortunately for Alicent, Rhaenyra is a spoilt princess with the blood of the dragon running through her and submission has never been part of her vocabulary.
Rhaenyra makes a quick play of her cards which leaves a shocked Alicent licking her wounds in Oldtown.
Viserys may be a bumbling idiot, but here he separates Alicent and Rhaenyra the right way, even if it's just a temporary stint.

Summary
At 13, Rhaenyra was the happiest girl in the realm. Her parents had announced the end of their trials for a boy & crowned her Heir to the Iron Throne. From that day onwards, Rhaenyra wanted to be Queen more than anything. The Princess worked hard to prove herself worthy to her father, yet at 15, her mother fell pregnant again.
Her world crumbled when the gods showed her a vision of her mother's murder but by their mercy, Rhaenyra helped her mother flee the Keep.
To protect her mother from her obsessive father and to hide the existence of her little brother whom her camp declared stillborn, Rhaenyra made the difficult decision to disinherit herself.
Rhaenyra dropped the throne for freedom and happiness, so she would never face the Doom and gloom of her visions.
A life of of unconventional happiness with her three spouses, building her own legacy, building up her own Islands, and seeing the world is what Rhaenyra chose, all the things she wouldn't be able to do under Viserys's thumb as heir.
Yet what she never envisaged was Viserys's unwillingness to let her go. Now she has to play nice for him to sign the final documents, grant her lands full independence and finally disinherit her. -

But she surprisingly, found ease and solace in Ser Harwin Strong. Obviously, she assumed she also found a Groom and Consort in the handsome man as well, thinking "marriage may not be so bad after all."

She rolls her eyes, more due to his dramatics than the crassness of his statement. Honestly, it is terribly unfair that she has to be the logical one in this relationship.

Alicent had prayed already to the mother, the maiden, and the crone. She prayed to the warrior for peace for her father’s soul and to the smith to bring her strength. Alicent had bypassed the stranger entirely and had saved the father for last, knowing that is where she would sit the longest.
She kneeled there until her knees were red and raw. She prayed that the murderer who had brutally slain him in his bed would have their sins brought to light and that they would be judged accordingly. She prayed that duty and honor would prevail as the gods intended. Alicent had faith that Otto Hightower would get the justice he deserved.
As she is escorted back to the Red Keep, she thinks of all the other times she’s shared this carriage. When she had her father and her friend and her maidenhead, dressed in pale blues instead of Targaryen red and black.
The blue dress she wears to go see Rhaenyra is a little bit darker and in a more mature style than she would have worn before her marriage. Still, she hopes it invokes the memories of the affection they used to share.

“Queen Alicent?” Jace asks, putting special emphasis on her name, as apparently that is the most disbelieving part about everything he said. He nods, but the boy does not look convinced. “You don’t even like her.” He says bluntly.
