“Please, SB- Please leave me alone,” he lets a note of pleading into his voice, “Pretty please?” He pearls away before SB can get in a reply.
“Oh, but Clown, I don't think I want to.” SB appears behind him a second later and Clown can practically hear his self-confident smile.
He throws down a speed potion and keeps sprinting.
“Are you trying to get me to beg for my life?” Clown asks, half-jokingly.
“Would you?”
Or,
SB attacks Clown and because of their deal, Clown can't fight back. He can only run.

Branzy looks up at Clown standing at the rocky formation where the dragon egg usually sits, He feels the bedrock blocking the portal to the overworld cold beneath his feet. Clown continues to crow about how they’ll live here, away from the permeating violence but the words turn into static in his ear.
—He’s suddenly hit with the memory of Clown’s voice during the initial hostage situation back in season 3; voice cracking with poorly hidden fear and panic negotiating for Branzy’s useless life bleeding through Subz’s shitty communicator.
So, Branzy makes a decision to play along.
