Summary
“She’s breathing.” Beatrice’s fingers twitch against Ava’s neck, near where her head is cradled in her lap. “Her pulse is fast. But she’s alive. Beyond that, I can’t tell.”
An emergence, an escape, a twenty-four hour van ride, an abundance of beds (but no lack of sharing despite it), and any number of feelings clamoring through. [Immediately post-season 1, in five parts.]

Summary
She’s double-checking her locker to make sure she hasn’t forgotten anything when a voice from behind her says, “Hey, Adora.”
Every nerve in Adora’s body sparks. The voice is impossible—subtly raspy, teasing, familiar.
(Four years after Adora moves away, Catra walks into the University of Bright Moon gym locker room and back into Adora's life. Some things have changed: Catra's hair is short now, they both go to therapy, Adora has a tattoo. Some things—Adora's hair poof, Catra's laugh, the magnetic draw between them that only grows stronger the closer they get to each other—are still the same.)

Summary
“We should have something that’s ours, you know?”
And Catra can’t fight her on that. It’s been years since the war, but old habits die hard, and Adora is still learning how to be selfish. How to just say no when she wants to, sleep when she needs to, let go of her burdens when they weigh her down. She gets better day by day. And if Adora wants to build something of her own from the ground up, so be it. It’s not in her nature to do things the easy way.
Catra laces their fingers together. She kisses the back of Adora’s hand. “I’m in.”

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.
