Summary
Some kids grew up half in love with Sidney Crosby. Others, perhaps the younger players, favored McDavid. But Connor’d never wavered. Kane- five-foot-ten, fast and sharp, first round draft pick to Chicago during a cup drought- had always been his hero. His idol. And the man he was supposed to follow in the too-grand footsteps of.
—
Patrick Kane hates him. And that’s a hard pill to swallow for a kid who grew up idolizing PK88.
—
The kid hero worships him, and Patrick couldn’t care less. He’s got enough on his plate, begging for Jonny to forgive him and let him go home- that arbitrary place that is wherever his old captain happens to be.

Summary
“Let me talk to him!” The voice says, then Letang grunts as it's obvious the phone is less-than-willingly handed off.
“Beau?” Mat asks, a little hesitantly, and he can practically hear Beau’s smile.
“Barzy! Apparently, I’m not supposed to be sixteen.” He says, like that somehow makes any sense at all.
—
When Beau somehow gets de-aged, Mat takes him in until he’s back to normal.
Mat’s sure that his life-long feelings for his best friend won’t be a problem… right?

Summary
“Here.” Will says, unsure what makes him think of it, and he thrusts his hand out in front of Macklin’s face. Mack looks confused, at first, and then it’s like he gains abrupt clarity, because he grabs the proffered arm with both hands reverently, tightly. He pulls it to his mouth and lets Will’s muscle and sinew coated in hot skin part his lips as he presses his sealed mouth against him. Will wants to prompt him, to yell ‘bite down, damnit!’ but as his patience runs out, Mack opens his jaws and sinks his teeth in, in, in. It’s not the light nips he’s taken before, not the playful way he’s dined on Will in the past. This is a real bite, a genuinely painful and sharp sensation deep in the tissue and muscle lining Will’s arm.
—
Macklin has a biting thing. Then he just plain has a thing for Will. Will is amenable.

Summary
Quinn visits home during his first year in the NHL. Jack wears his jersey. They dance around the obvious while basking in each other’s proximity.
—
“Is that why you’re wearing his jersey?” Luke's voice, this time, and it sounds like he’s trying to cause trouble. There’s a moment where Quinn feels a little bad for dropping in unexpectedly, wonders if Jack will be embarrassed to be caught wearing his jersey. Quinn peeks around the corner and sees that it’s genuinely his jersey- a game worn one he’d thought he lost months ago.

Summary
Mack shrugs, then keeps scrolling through his phone. "Hey, actually," he starts, though quickly cuts himself off.
"Oh no," Will groans. "What is it now?"
"Hear me out," Mack immediately says, which already isn't a good sign. "You and me. We get married, we blow up the NHL, it'll be fucking awesome. Let's do it."
Will's eyebrows shoot up. "Dude, are you crazy? You know we'd get crucified for that."
Nothing about this sounds fucking awesome. In fact, it teeters more on the edge of terrifying. But Will finds himself a bit of a liar, too.

Summary
“Sit down,” the doctor said. He took blood, three vials filling up dark red. “Any medical conditions?”
“No,” Dom said, and then his mouth kept going and said, “What if I want to volunteer for bonding?”
The doctor peered at him over the glasses. “Do you want to volunteer for bonding?”
It hung in the air. Dom felt it like a noose around his throat, squeezing. Twenty-five to life. “Yeah,” he said.

Summary
“Call me Kakashi,” he interrupted her in an uncharacteristically soft, gentling voice, and something in Naruto's stomach dropped like a stone as the fear that she was about to receive bad news stabbed through her, causing her smile to falter as her fist clenched on the doorknob, some instinct inside her screaming for her to shut the door and lock it. “Nothing is wrong,” he assured her, his voice still soft and suddenly unfamiliar, his eye trained on her face in an unnaturally intent way that made the hair on her arms stand straight up. “Invite me in.”
-
When her sensei is hit with a genjutsu that causes him to seek her out each night and forget what he's done by morning, Naruto finds herself adrift in a world in which nowhere is safe, no one can help, and nothing she does ever changes the outcome. Is there any way out that won't further victimize them both?
-
When his student begins behaving strangely, Kakashi becomes convinced that she's being abused. Determined to help her, he begins investigating who the perpetrator may be, but his own mysterious health problems keep getting in his way. Can he save her before it's too late?
