Summary

Penelope slunk out of bed and crawled into the shower, trying not to think about the night before while she scrubbed every inch of her body. Her hair was tied in a silk scrunchie at the top of her head since she knew she wouldn’t have time to dry it. She tiptoed around her room, gathering clothes and shoes for work, and snuck out into the living room to put them on.
Once dressed, she desperately watched the coffee trickling out of the machine, dripping so slowly it almost seemed that time had stopped altogether. She needed to think straight to figure out what the fuck she was supposed to do next.
“I hope you’re making two cups,” Colin’s voice came from behind her.
She spun around to find him standing against the doorframe of her bedroom in only his black boxer-briefs.

Summary

She was startled and looked up into his eyes for a moment, and then started giggling. It was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. It sounded like his mom’s wind chimes on the back porch, or the bells on the ice cream truck when it rounded the corner… but even more magical. He giggled back at her.
“I’m Colin,” he said with a smile that he didn’t even have to try to make so big.
