Summary
Link likes adventuring. There was a thrill he always felt whenever he was dungeon-crawling or monster-slaying. It was just a simple pleasure any single, young man dreams of. Especially when he had a goal: an old friend he was searching for. But as the flow of time passes on, his hope of finding Navi dims. And so does his old fondness for adventuring.
Perhaps it's time for this young man to take the next step in his life. Link has always been on the go, but now...
Now he wants to settle.

Summary
After his original journey during the events of Twilight Princess, Link is left heart broken with no purpose or direction in life. Unable to settle back into his simple farm life, his feet start itching to venture out on another adventure. He only has one purpose in mind, to find his old companion, Midna. History always repeats itself, after all. Much like his ancestor, Link sets off to leave Hyrule, maybe never to return. His first stop: The Lost Woods.

'I don't do well in the cold, okay?'
There aren't any words to describe the all-encompassing feeling of dread that washes over him, then. Guilt sits slimy in the spaces between his molars and leaves an acrid trail down his throat, pooling heavily in the deepest pits of his stomach.
Roy Mustang stood against evil, but it seemed that it didn't protect him from being evil himself. No, it most certainly did not make him good.-or-
Roy has a bad day, so when Edward is protesting attending a mission in the north, he assumes it to be petulance. An argument ensues, Roy says things he shouldn't, and subsequently he ends up scrambling to keep Edward from freezing to death by the Drachman border.

Roy Mustang's words were laced with a thoughtful hum, and Edward tried not to feel hurt by the misassumption. Many heard his title and assumed it came down to his automail arm and leg. Ed had just hoped the Colonel - after everything - would've been different; that Mustang would've looked past Edward's ill-fitting uniform and cripplingly-heavy automail and only see him as a person.
''But,'' Mustang continued, pensive, ''I think they spelled your title wrong. You're not Fullmetal, you should be Fullmettle. As in, you are full of mettle.''
Edward blinked, utterly baffled.
''Mettle, kid. M-E-T-T-L-E.''
Mustang spelled it out for him. Literally. A genuine smile tugged at the Colonel's lips as he rumbled out a fleeting chuckle, affectionately sweeping a hand over the top of Edward's golden crown. The boy's throat constricted as an annoying warm blur suddenly invaded his vision. He had experienced more kind words and actions under this man's brief command than he had experienced in a long, long time.
It was just a shame that it was only a temporary arrangement.

But Roy is distracted by Edward’s idiocy, and after the sluggish day of menial work, his brain is operating at limited capacity. It takes a moment for Roy to process her question. “My son?”
