Summary
Ema Skye is given some mysterious files at work, an old investigation that needs to be revisited in case it can be reopened. People around her keep avoiding the topic and her questions, which makes her believe this is all about her sister’s involvement in the SL-9 case years prior.

Manfred von Karma's Amazing Adventures by ManfredvonKarma
Fandom 逆転裁判 | Gyakuten Saiban | Ace Attorney
04 Feb 2016
Summary
Manfred von Karma goes on many adventures. Also featured are his children, Franziska and Miles, his nemesis-turned-friendish person-turned-romantic partner Gregory Edgeworth, his evil boss Bansai Ichiyanagi, and at one point Klavier Gavin. Each adventure focuses on a topic, like romance, or birthdays, or the popular Food Network program 'Cupcake Wars'. Hopefully you will have as much fun reading these stories as I did writing them. Which is to say, a lot.

Summary
Miles sighed, curling his other hand around the curve of Phoenix’s bare shoulder, just above his collarbone. “Yes. And I like it, I like the idea of going house hunting with you. And furniture shopping. I want to pick out expensive plates for our kitchen and put them on our registry list.”
Phoenix quirked an eyebrow. “With an air-fryer we don’t need?”
Miles hummed, “And crystalline champagne glasses. Those are a must.”
Phoenix and Miles go house hunting. Los Angeles, 2027.

Summary
As another bite sends pastry flakes raining down once more onto her lap, Daddy says, “Y’know,” and at his change in tone, at the way he says only that and then pauses, not just his speech but also his hands in his handkerchief pile, Trucy lifts her head to him. She’s greeted by his side-long gaze; expectant, as if her own gaze is late to a shared engagement. Phoenix smiles. “He’s only being so pedantic because it’s nearly done.”
Trucy stares at him. She brushes a crumb off her chin. “Really?”
The season of summer is trying its best in Amsterdam (and doing a pretty good job of it), Trucy's got magic props to sort out on the sidewalk she's co-opted, and Phoenix, as it happens, is nearly done with MASON. After years spent overthinking it herself, Trucy wants to know what her dad thinks that'll mean.

Summary
Phoenix laughs, more caustic than intended. "I'm not asking for you to play house with me. You're not my other woman."
"Don't make a joke of it," Miles says.
"I'm not. Like," and, oh, he's really underprepared for this situation. If he'd known they'd be getting so deep into the whole feelings thing, he would have made up a mystery illness and stayed in L.A. "I was pretty fucking in love with you. Even during State versus Skye. I mean, I had other stuff on my mind, but it was there."
Or, Phoenix, Miles, the city of Milan, and a fistful of loose ends.

Summary
Maybe there’s something to be said about synchronicity and the pseudo-scientific potential of twins sharing thoughts beyond the grave, because Mimi's never been able to tell on instinct who's good and bad, but Ini always had this extrasensory empathy that let her smell the poison in people’s veins (she told her, sis, this Dr. Grey guy’s gonna kill you, I know it, and Mimi ignored her like an idiot).
Two perfectly fabricated reunions, and one that could have been.

Dear Mia,
It’s been a long time since we’ve talked–the longest I’ve ever gone without talking to you since we met, actually. Maya is still away training, and your absence in this office is more suffocating than ever. It’s like the building itself knows you're gone.

Summary
Miles Edgeworth asked, "Where are you, Franziska? Where do you want to be?"
Where did she want to be? She wanted to be before that fireplace again, knowing in absolute terms that she had a father and a brother and a place in the world, that she would be a von Karma and also, that being a von Karma meant being perfect. She wanted to be somewhere with a whip in her hand—she wanted to be somewhere with snow. The stupidest thing was that she had loved him when he was dead and she had loved him when he had betrayed her. She would keep on loving him for the rest of her life, and she would never be able to know if he had ever felt the same. "I want to go home," she whispered into the mic.
Or, Franziska von Karma, Miles Edgeworth, and the pendulum of absence, swinging anew.
