There was something happening. Although I retained my human-seeming form it was my cat’s green, vertically slit eyes that stared out of a human face. I floated in the background while my cat self-assessed the situation dispassionately. The only way I had survived my captivity was by breaking. My cat could tolerate and handle pain better than I could so I hid while she took the damage that the witches inflicted on me.

Backstory: Laura Kinney (Weapon X-23), her aunt, and cousin Megan Kinney were attacked by an undercover agent from the Weapon X program attempting to retrieve Weapon X-23. Laura's aunt was killed but Laura managed to escape with twelve-year-old Megan who was badly injured. Laura took Megan to Logan at the Institute and left her there to be protected under the false identity of Elizabeth Victoria Wilson, Charles Xavier's daughter.
