Summary
Kris is conflicted.
They know they need sleep for the festival tomorrow, and to continue the plan. But with Susie sounding so uncertain after getting their mother to quiet down, only the reminder of their promise stops them from jumping out the window to follow her.
It's in the midst of this internal debate, Kris hears the soul tapping rhythmically on the bars of it's cage.
Kris knows what that tapping means.

My first proper Deltarune fic, based on the idea that the soul could use it's limited movement to communicate with Kris in a very rough, rudimentary way, and how that could potentially change how the entire story goes.

Summary
Susie...she was the girl, with hope crossed on her heart. Kris was sure of it. If anyone could rewrite that ending, it was Susie.
But they weren’t. They weren’t hopeful, or powerful, or even really a hero. They were just...the cage.
What could they even do?
...fuck that.
Kris jumped to the ground below, and took off running.The Cage rebels against their masters and shares their knowledge with the Dragon. The Festival is coming, and this world is never gonna be the same.

Oh gosh, the chapter was amazing!! You say that the word count is padded by game mechanics, but you honestly write them in perfectly, I genuinely felt like they added to the story so much!! I really hope you have a good break, and we're excited to see what you make on your return!!

Summary
The little things his younger sibling did were nothing more than innocent curiosity. Made sense, it really did. He never knew exactly where or how his family found them, but he had to assume they had never had contact with monsters before arriving at the Dreemurrs' house. That was their way of learning about them, or at least from, well, him.
Had to assume so. Because then he couldn't really explain those sudden gestures and touches over time. Pupils tracing the shape of his legs when he stood up, a subtle palm snaking its way between his thigh and knee every time they sat together at the table, fingers trying to touch his newly grown horns with something that didn't fit any emotion he knew.
Kris's strange behaviors and Asriel's conflicting feelings across the years bump into each other the night before he leaves for college.
