Summary
Lena is dead and Kara is completely, utterly lost. This is the story of how she deals with it, finds her voice and eventually starts to heal.
This story follows the same time frame of Killing Time (the other story in this series), this time told from Kara’s perspective. It can be read alone, before or after it. Canon until about halfway through season 5.
“You just cried for two hours straight and then had a panic attack” Alex persists.
“I loved her.” Kara shrugs, as if that realization hadn’t completely demolished her.
“I know you did, I loved her too and I’m devastated by her death, but with your history... It might’ve hit you harder.” Alex gets up too and puts a hand on Kara’s back.

The blonde woman laughs, turning towards Lena with none of the alarm or indignation she expected. She just looks open, and friendly.

With the need to have an all powerful child, Homelander tries everything to get Supergirl to carry them. After several denials, Homelander finally shows Supergirl and the world who he truly is, by going after the woman Supergirl loves more than anything, her fiancee, Lena Luthor. But he quickly realizes how powerless he truly is compared to a true child of Krypton.

“Because she asked, because she showed interest.” Lena said eventually, the words clipped and sharp. “You’ve never even tried to touch me like that. Never given any indication that you would want to…”

Lena’s half-listening, caught somewhere between the burn of bourbon in her glass and the curve of Kara’s mouth as she teases Alex.
She almost doesn't notice when Kara leans in, low and fond and a little breathless, and says under her breath, like it’s just for her:
