After the chasm Aether decides he wants to confess his love to Xiao, but he realises Xiao needs to be shown he is deserving of receiving his feelings.
I have never ever written a fic before, but I love this pairing too much and Xiao is my favourite boy so I needed to get something out of my brain about them.
I’ve seen Aexiao week on Twitter as well as Pachi’s sweet delight and felt inspired to post my own fic, I hope you can enjoy even tho my writing sucks!

"i want to.. try something today, if that's okay?" the honorary knight inquires, slowly sliding his hands up the other's forearms and effectively pulling xiao's gloves off as well. once they're off, he interlocks their fingers, smiling at the way the yaksha squirms at the direct contact.
"i suppose. though.. it depends on what exactly that something is.." is said somewhat warily as the immortal averts his gaze, too nervous to meet the traveller's eyes. "it's nothing scary, i promise!! it's sort of... uhm.. part of what we were doing right now! just um.. progressing it! it would involve a lot of um.. touching though and stuff so if that's- we don't have to!!"

Summary
Xiao has been protecting Liyue for centuries, following the contract of Rex Lapis even after he freed him from his duty. He had always only considered himself a weapon, too lethal to get close to anyone. That was until he crossed paths with the golden haired Traveler, Aether, who dared to approach him despite his warnings. Aether made him feel different, awakening new emotions within him that he had buried a long ago. Aether brought new light to his life, pulling him out of the darkness that had consumed him. But with those new feelings came also uncertainty. And as Aether leaves for his travels beyond the sea, Xiao discovers unfamiliar feelings forming in his heart. Worry, longing and the need to have someone by his side. And as he attempts to understand these feelings, it seems to only cause more challenges that threaten to bring them both apart.
