“If my Soul Jam is not enough, then…” Pure Vanilla says, wavering. “Then the only other thing I can offer you is… myself.”
Shadow Milk’s mouth slowly curves up. He begins slowly pacing in a tight circle around where Pure Vanilla stands, each step slow and deliberate like he’s stalking prey. Pure Vanilla feels exposed and helpless enough to fit the role.
“That’s more like it,” the beast purrs. His circling stride tightens until his tails can lightly brush against Pure Vanilla’s body, gentle and careful like a caress. He only feels more trapped as everywhere he can possibly look is taken up by Shadow Milk’s draconic form. “I wonder if you truly know what it means to offer yourself to a dragon, Pure Vanilla Cookie.”
Desperate to save his friends once more, Pure Vanilla offers to strike a deal with one of the most powerful dragons in existence. The outcome isn't what he expected.

Mermay fic! Sage of Truth (called blueberry milk) is a Researcher, and TR is a siren.
Blueberry Milk researches behaviours and habitats for Mers. One day, he's sent out on a task by the Researchers higher up than him; to investigate newly discovered Mer territory. However, amid making new friendships, he meets something strange with such an alluring song that seems to beckon him towards it every time he hears it. What a wonder! If only he was allowed to research things that weren't Merfolk, huh?

She nodded slowly. “Yes. Can you do that?”

Summary
The night before they depart, Pure Vanilla stumbles upon a breakthrough. A book, burned and scarred from the ages, but detailing the proper steps to starting a relationship. Dating back to Shadow Milk’s time, perhaps this will let him break past the other’s shell and finally make have the other take him up on his offer of friendship! All he has to do is follow these steps, and they should be friends in no time, as the book says!
Shadow Milk, for his part, is thrown by his counterpart suddenly flipping the script and trying to woo him.
