Summary
Every few years, Okhema Kingdom holds a grand royal ball, inviting various neighboring kingdoms to attend and enjoy the sights that Okhema has to offer. This year, however, Kremnos Kingdom, which has had its borders mysteriously closed for many, many years, suddenly confirmed its attendance in Okhema. And, of course, Aglaea assigns Phainon to be their guard during the duration of their stay.
Little did Phainon know that this would be the most difficult assignment he would ever have.

Summary
Phainon is a knight serving under the Imperator, tasked to be the personal guard of her recently wed husband, Prince Mydeimos. A chance encounter in the dead of night leads Phainon to suspect that Mydeimos may be unfaithful in his new union, and he decides to follow the prince into a brothel to confront him on his infidelity.
Only, when he arrives, he discovers the prince's activities may not be so secret after all. And, what's more, the prince was just waiting for the chance to introduce Phainon to the most intimate details of his private life with the direct blessings of his supposed wife and her own secret lover.

Aglaea nods gravely. “Our spies in Hell have gathered some troubling information. Kremnos’ Crown Prince is planning to move to the mortal realm, long term.”
“They want to catch us off guard,” Phainon infers, “with their Crown Prince being the leading force.”
“Correct,” Aglaea says, sighing. “Their regular soldiers are already troublesome enough, I can only imagine the destruction a royal member will bring. He’s going to use his time in the mortal realm to gain an unprecedented amount of power. Which is why, Khaslana, you need to accompany him.”
“To kill him, right?” Phainon asks. “To nip the bud before it blooms?”
“You, Khaslana, are to live with him, find details about the attack, and prevent him from gaining further power at all costs.”
Angel Phainon is sent to spy on Succubus Mydei for a mission. It would be detrimental if he were to fall in love with him.

Perdikkas comes into view, stepping closer to blink down at Phainon and Mydei on the ground. “You’re all here?”
Ptolemy scoffs, kicking lightly at the dirt. “Guess who has the extraordinary pleasure of being assigned the babysitting duty to the dumbass trio over here?” He rolls his eyes with a sharp sigh. “Not Peucesta, clearly. Lucky bastard.”
“Don’t lump me in with them,” Hephaestion protests. Ridiculous. Everyone knows who instigates the fights just as often as Phainon and Mydei.
“We don’t need babysitting,” Phainon says at the same time, words muffled as Mydei’s hand smashes his head into the ground, resuming their fight now that Ptolemy is distracted. Phainon almost bites down on the dirt by accident.
