Harua lowers his voice. "Would you dare?" His eyes now seem pleading. Their lips come as close as they can without touching. Maki closes his eyes."All's fair in war." It hurt Maki to say that.
"Would you dare put a sword to my neck?"
"I'd prefer my lips on your neck." And he leaves the room

Maki knows Harua hates him.
And Maki likes that Harua hates him.It's the way Harua looks at him, the way his tone changes when he speaks to him, the way he gets desperate and slicks back his perfectly combed hair, the way when they pass each other in the university hallways he puffs out his chest and raises his chin, or the way he quickens his pace before Maki can catch up.
It's these and other details that Maki is glad are exclusive to him.

He definitely feels better after hanging up; incredibly, he falls asleep in a matter of seconds. But it doesn't last long. Forty minutes later, someone knocks on his door.
He has an idea of who it might be. It's probably Nicholas, who brought a sleeping Maki over on his shoulders because he doesn't know what to do with him. But damn it, Harua doesn't have the heart to leave someone vulnerable alone outside his house with the cold blowing in their face, especially since he knows how much Maki weighs.
