“I have done it for years and you haven’t asked.”
Jaskier looks up at him at that, twitching when Geralt hits a ticklish spot.
“Geralt. Will you take me as your lawfully wedded foot massager-”

The sky is on fire, swimming in his gaze and painting his hair golden, then red. Geralt longs to run his fingers through them. From this close, he can count the few freckles on his cheeks.
A low hum escapes his throat. “What are they like?” he says and hears Jaskier’s heart beating faster as though thankful for indulging him. Little he knows Geralt is indulging his own hope.
Hope that in another life, maybe, it would have been easier. It would have been him.

Oh, Geralt, what’s a more romantic profession of love than a poem to one’s lover?
A poem. Jaskier wants a poem. Subconsciously, Geralt is almost certain that’s not what Jaskier meant as much as he’s certain he can’t write a poem. But this is the subconscious. And Geralt doesn’t have an exceptional relationship with it.
He thinks about improving that relationship as he reads the four verses he has managed to get out.

Geralt stepped closer, seeing how Jaskier was still leaning on the wall, his body tense and raised his brows. “Everything okay?”
Jaskier looked at him as if he was just noticing his presence. After some seconds, as though forcing his mind to work, he nodded with a smile. “Yeah, perfectly fine.”
Geralt hummed. In the darkness of the corridor, he could still see Jaskier's palms stuck on the wall behind him. He sighed and reached for his hand, holding it tight in his. He could feel its light tremble and he raised his look. Jaskier swallowed. With a snort, Geralt shook his head. "Come."
