So he sighs, head going down to his chest and he winces, both from the pain and from bringing that hurt look on his best friend’s face. “I-I got startled,” he says, voice creaking as he speaks.
Eddie waves him off, “It’s-It’s okay,” stutters, fidgeting with his fingers. “I got close,” he says, gesturing to him, the bed and the glass of water on the table. A moment of silence passes
