The dagger twists, its point giving way to blade as Blackbeard puts his face inches from the English lieutenant’s. Bodies of Englishmen in blue coats litter the floor, and this officer would soon join them.
“Do you know, dog, what I do to men who lie to me?” Blackbeard hums, letting his knife dance around the seaman’s throat.
“I-I do. I swear I-I’m not- please, I-“
“Ah, ah.” Blackbeard tuts, “Clearly, now, unless that tongue is in your way and you need it removed.”
Trembling, the man swallows, and says:
“He was crushed under a piano. In Barbados. Dozens of witnesses, they buried him not a week ago.
Stede Bonnet is dead.”
