Xie Lian slowly poked his small ferret head out of the leaf pile.
“Why are you giving me free eggs?” he asked suspiciously, one of the leaves now balanced on his head like a bamboo hat.
It is forbidden to ask what a person turns into at night.
By day, they remain human. When the sun sets: an animal form, unique to each person. Day and night are separate worlds and separate lives. It is the greatest, most unbreakable taboo to know a person’s nightform. And even more dangerous for Xie Lian, as he is cursed.
But one night in the forest, he meets a fox. A very powerful fox, who seems hell bent on protecting him at all costs. And the very next day, he meets a man calling himself San Lang.

Once, Xie Lian was the most popular face in reality TV. After the...incident, Xie Lian is banished to 2am cable, and turns to making a different kind of show: storage hunting.
But in his final season, he suddenly acquires a new producer: a Youtube star named San Lang. And San Lang- along with his legion of fans- is determined to save the show.

Qianqiu nods, grinning. "Well, foster siblings, technically, not that that matters. That's our dad behind you."
Hua Cheng raises his coffee cup to his lips, all to nearly spill it all over himself. Not that it matters? That's… that's something he's never heard before.
("Hah! You'll never really be part of this family. The lady will take you away once we get sick of you. See how long you'll last.")
"Hi," the man behind him laughs. "I'm Xie Lian. I'm sorry about Banyue."
It's only then that Hua Cheng actually turns around to get a look at Qianqiu's father—foster father, and when he does, he nearly drops his coffee again.
