"Lovesick fool?" Gavin echoed in his best try to appear affronted. He’d told Tina about his night with Connor, but kept his feelings for the android locked firmly inside himself. "Who said anything ‘bout love, huh? We fucked, had a nice night together and that’s it."
He scrunched up the empty plastic cup in anger about himself. And the Oscar for the worst liar goes to … Gavin Reed, who’d also won the Oscar for biggest coward. Applause, applause.
"Yeah, that’s why you staring at him with those heart-shaped eyes."
The plastic cup bounced off the edge of the trashcan and landed outside on the floor. "’m not staring with heart-shaped eyes, I’m just … staring. Period." Sighing in annoyance, he picked the cup up and threw it directly into the trashcan this time, with unecessary force. Damned be Tina Chen and her outstanding perception!

"See that blond guy in the red shirt?" The third bottle of beer was pressed into Gavin's hands. Then Connor nodded to someone in the dancing crowd. "He ogled you for the past 37 minutes and 23 seco- Hey, don't stare back so freaking obviously!"
Ignoring Connor's hissed words, Gavin continued eyeing the blond up over the rim of his beer bottle.
"You're shameless." Connor shook his head at his unabashed way of taking in the body proportions of the guy. Slender, almost skinny, shorter than him, pouty lips and doe eyes … cute twink material, yet not what he was looking for tonight.
"Shameless gets me cocks. And asses," Gavin countered with a smug grin, directed at Connor.

"What else do you want me to do?" Despite his question, Nines crossed his arms uncooperative. Connor really pushed his buttons here and he wasn't fond of it. Not at all. "Go down on my knees and beg for forgiveness?" He couldn't hold back the sneer, sarcasm clearly audible in his voice.
Connor didn't answer. In fact, his LED began to blink yellow for a whole three seconds, indicating thought processing. When it turned back to a steady blue, Connor met his glance with an inscrutable, intense stare, something dark sparkling in his brown eyes.
"Kneel."

Nines behaved like an arrogant, mean asshole towards Connor while both of them worked on a case and Connor isn't satisfied with just a simple "Sorry" this time.
