Three knocks interrupted the conversation about his new job. They all turned toward the door as Buck walked over to open it. He smiled at the two people standing outside.
He knew only two people were missing, so he welcomed them without hesitation.
"Hey, you must be Eddie and Christopher. It's really nice to meet you. Thanks for coming to help! Come on in—there's pizza!"Whatever Eddie had imagined Maddie’s brother would be like... this wasn’t it. Standing in front of him was the most beautiful man he’d ever seen. Tall, with chestnut hair that made him want to run his fingers through those curls—or grab them—and piercing blue eyes that made something warm bloom in his chest. And that smile, framed by dimples on each cheek... yeah. Dead.
The only thought that crossed Eddie’s mind was that he should probably say something. Anything. Moving might be good, too. Step forward into the loft? Shake his hand? Mention Christopher?
Talking about Christopher always came easily, and it seemed like the safest choice. But nothing came. Nada.
