I tried not to gape. It was my car. The make and model that I’d memorized when I’d first heard of it in the off chance I ever lucked into winning the lottery. A red convertible Maserati Spyder. It was so awesome it glowed, but then that glow began to fade as the metal cooled. The snow around the Maserati had melted in a perfect circle, leaving my shoes soaked.
The driver got out, smiling. She looked around seventeen or eighteen years old. She could be a model for surfboards with her height and effortless curly blond hair and perfect tan in the dead of winter. She had on jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt to show off her frankly impressive guns. The effort it took for me to not gape only increased.
