Summary
Centuries of patience brought forth an unexpected unique opportunity for Gwi-Ma. Watching the half-breed slowly fall from grace pleased them to no end. Until finally, they could lean close and whisper sweet poison into her mind. But she was still a Hunter—blood and fate intertwined. It would take time to corrupt her. She had one foot in the light, one in the dark: a delicate balance, a rare opening not to be wasted. They had waited lifetimes for this; a few more years were nothing.
They knew that if the half-breed were pushed too far, too fast, this golden opportunity would shatter—and another might never appear again. Then, one day, Gwi-Ma heard her respond. The door to her soul swung open wider than ever before. Their prize was within reach. Yet, something made Gwi-Ma pause.
Two more doors had appeared before the Demon King, each cracked just enough to glimpse what lay beyond.
What were a few more months if the final prize could be magnitudes greater? A few more whispered words, and the reward would surpass even their wildest imaginings.
