Summary
It has been six months since the events on Ursa-IV, and Julia and Sai have returned to reality. Sai reunited with his family, where tensions still abound, while Julia started over on the jointly occupied Human/Sangheili colony Carrow. While her secrets creep in the periphery, things seem quiet. The two are drawn together again, united in their desire to expose the truth: For Julia, to learn her brother's fate, and for Sai, a push to force his family to face their past and settle his own demons. But searching for the truth while harboring a secret of her own proves to be risky business. Grappling with the murky depths around them drudges up old feelings within, leaving one last truth to confront.

The group is forced to work together if they want to live. Julia is a traumatized human orphan. Sai is a disillusioned Sangheili. What starts out as a simple escape plan turns into the unwinding of old beliefs, the discovery of an insidious plan, and the spark of love between kindred spirits
