Summary
You work in the largest aquarium in the state. You like your job, it's peaceful (when the visitors are gone anyway). The cool blues of the clear-walled tanks are mesmerizing in the dim-lit halls you quickly grow familiar with.
A new exhibit takes center-stage a little over a year after you started officially working for the aquarium. Some very lucky (very dead) biologist managed to capture one of the mysterious merfolk and an unprecedented opportunity presents itself. The chance to learn more about the elusive and violent species is one too good for you to pass up.
But... you might have bitten off more than you can chew.

Sure, you’re not the most popular in school. You never have been, grouped in with the geeks, the freaks, and the wannabes. You were different from them, though. You just liked to enjoy your special interests, make passing chats with the people that were tolerable, and hang out with your best buddy TK after school by playing horribly violent video games. How does that make you different than everyone that sits around you in class?
Because not everyone had a 6’5 emo kid going out of their way to make your life hell.
