Summary
Society favors only the most dominant and ambitious of the designations, leaving the rest to be forgotten and ignored. Born into the wrong designation, Kaveh exhausts all avenues to make a stable life for himself, only to undo it all by his own making.
“You're an omega, aren't you?”
As loveless as the offer may be, becoming ‘official’ mates was a mutual benefit for both of them. Alhaitham could live more comfortably, while Kaveh was guaranteed safety.
Tolerance of one another was the lowest price they had to pay.- Language:

Summary
So, the fortune-teller cursed him.
There was something in that dust, and either Kaveh’s passed out on the ground somewhere having the wildest fever dream, or it’s poison and he’s dead. This being a personal hell might be the better option because at least that way Kaveh can wave off Alhaitham’s sordid thoughts that he cannot fucking ignore.
After their coffee, Kaveh accidentally left that robe on the back of the kitchen chair. When he went to get it, he found that Alhaitham had already stolen it back, and though he couldn’t see the man, he certainly heard his thoughts scraping over his mind: He smells good. He always smells so good.
Kaveh gets cursed, resulting in hearing Alhaitham's thoughts--specifically about him. And oh, there's a lot to be heard.

Summary
"Why don’t you ever listen to me? I quite clearly pointed out that the path back to camp was a right, not a left.”
“Hm.”
“Do you know how I know this, Alhaitham? There’s a fallen tree over there that’s been completely consumed by moss. I noticed it earlier—the first time we went this way—as it looked strangely like the emblem on the vendor stall we—You’re not listening, are you?”
Kaveh’s shoulders slump impossibly further.
It’s been roughly under an hour since they left base camp to gather some water for the four of them. After a serious of unfortunate events that Kaveh is not at all to blame for, they found themselves aimlessly walking in a lopsided circle. Feet hurting, stomach growling, Kaveh could only blame one person for this very avoidable mess.
“Alhaitham.”
Or, Kaveh and Alhaitham get lost in the woods on a weekend camping trip. There's only one tent. Supposedly.

Summary
The problem, Kaveh decides, wasn’t just that Alhaitham had no range, even when the similarities were so close all he’d have to do was change his name. It was that Nilou somehow expected him to fix it. Performance chemistry was not something you could brute-force by proximity and stubbornness and sheer willpower. Kaveh has already spent a full semester proving that Alhaitham was biologically immune to charm.
Nilou rubbed her temples.
“Okay, look. You’re actors—well, one of you is. You’re meant to create illusions. Maybe just… pretend you don’t hate each other? And then hate each other when it calls for it.”
“We don’t hate each other,” Kaveh snapped.
Alhaitham, beside him, nodded agreeably. “I simply find him taxing.”
In Sumeru University’s production of Barefoot in the Park, Kaveh’s original scene partner breaks a leg. Literally. His insufferable roommate steps up to the plate. Only: they have zero chemistry and turn to alternatives, i.e, method acting.
But it’s fine, they’re adults. What could go wrong?

Summary
Kaveh obtains a corset during a business trip, and promptly puts it to good use when he gets home.
Kaveh climbs into bed and kneels atop Alhaitham, straddling him with his thighs. “This is a bit more exciting than me coming home with a machine core from some random ancient tomb, wouldn’t you say?”
“That could be exciting, too,” Alhaitham says, his thumbs stroking Kaveh’s hips. “I enjoy hearing about your engineering projects.”
Kaveh sighs. “Okay, I suppose I should have said that it’s a bit sexier, then.”
Alhaitham’s lips wobble with a barely-restrained smile. “Depends on what type of thing you’re engineering. That vibrating device you constructed a few months ago, for instance—”
