Four months after talking down a telepath who froze a city block, and taking a bullet in the process, Peter Parker is stuck in an exhausting holding pattern. He's grateful for the lack of superpowered threats… and profoundly bored of the routine. After all, there were only so many small-time drug dealers and bank-robbing shmucks who thought they were the next Danny Ocean that could hold his interest.
Then Jean Grey turns up on his couch at midnight, and everything changes yet again. Nobody said the process of going from having no one to having even just one would be easy, even for a superhero.
