Summary

Summary
All children are little sponges, swallowing the different behaviours and personality traits of those around them, but Dazai is a bit different. Mori has had the privilege to watch him construct his mask of humanity in real-time. The ceramic of an impish vizard falling into place, cheeks rosy and his grin bearing teeth. He’s watched him practise these expressions in the bathroom mirror, his passive, detached face twisting into all sorts of emotions.
He takes these expressions of false emotion to the extreme. He’s overcompensating, perhaps out of fear of those around him finding out just how othered he is. His laugh is just a bit too loud and boisterous, his conniving smirk just a tad too sharp. He takes the regular human mien and twists it into something that’s just too much.
Or;
Mori intends to control Dazai, no matter how he must dirty his hands.

Summary
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke was pathetic. Small, frail. His health left nothing to be desired. The only strengths he had were in his ability, but even that he did not have the self-discipline to make anything worthwhile.
Even with all of Akutagawa’s flaws, Dazai couldn't bear to throw him out. He knew the boy was capable of so much more than he showed. He did not make mistakes.
Training Akutagawa was growing into an obsession.
