    Or at least he thought he could. But like the day them met and Vaporeon dashed his hopes of studying his Water Stone, it kept throwing a wrench in his plans by simply existing. Refusing to be examined by Azul was quite the annoyance already, but it didn't even deign using moves in front of him so they could compare them to other Water types'. Azul could deal with things to a certain point, but even his patience had a limit.

    At least, if the target of his annoyance had been Kalim, it'd have been easier. Handling humans with whom he could talk was much easier than Pokémon and their thousand unique ways to interact with the world around them, all this without uttering a single word. Kalim had, thankfully, been nothing but uninvasive outside his constant chattering. There were limits to Azul's patience, but there didn't seem to exist for Kalim's whose smile stayed bright no matter what happened.

    Or: Azul has the best plan to ace his year and get new (future) business connections: help Kalim Al-Asim (whose newly-evolved Vaporeon has stolen his Water Stone) write a report together. It doesn't exactly go as planned, but it works out somewhat.
