"You ... these are for me?"
The stranger nodded, clearing his throat. "I, uh, saw you run off. Both times." He scratched the back of his neck again, "I know it's not much ... but I hope it's enough to help a little bit. And thank you, for ... what you've been doing."
You stared at the bottles for a moment in disbelief before looking back at your newfound friend.
"I figured I would … show my thanks?" He held his hand out for you, his gaze still averted awkwardly towards the lake. "You didn't need to do what you did."
"Dude," you snorted. "They're only sandwiches—anyone else would do the same."
"Well, they were good sandwiches."

After what he had witnessed, Hunter couldn't show his face back home again. Not now, not ever. With nowhere else to go, he finds himself hiding in Hexside---hungry, cold, tired, and on edge ... and only after he meets you does he start to feel safe again.
