Summary
"How much do you remember now?" Harry asks, looking guilty.
"I'm choosing not to."
"You're not totally focused on unraveling the mystery of your lost memories?"
"I know the basic facts." It's hard to say it out loud, but to your credit, you say it calmly and evenly without a crack in your composure. "I got high. I drove here. I begged you to come back. I tried to kill myself when you wouldn't."
"Oh. I guess it's not really much of a mystery."After Harry leaves Precinct 41 for good, Kim has a hard time coping with his departure. A really hard time.

Summary
HARRY DU BOIS - "Kim, this is a priceless opportunity for knowledge," he protests. "You never know when a working understanding of aerostatics will be useful for one of our cases!"
PURSUIT [Easy: Success] - Harry does not think this will be useful for one of your cases; he's just curious. You know the way he gets: he's seen something new and interesting, so now he wants to crack it open and dig his fingers into the guts of it until he understands how it all fits together.
FOCUS [Medium: Success] - He always tries this, as if you can't tell the difference between Harry on the case and Harry chasing butterflies.
PURSUIT [Medium: Success] - Does it matter if it's relevant to your work or not? Harry's instinct for secrets is second to none. Let him untangle them. You like solving them too.
FOCUS - They're a distraction.
ADRENALINE - Let's solve irrelevant mysteries about something other than the pale.
-

Summary
He had grinned at you then—face red from the sun and mid-summer heat, growing hair slowly unspooling from its ponytail—in such a way that made you push him harder against the hood of the car, if only to stop him from looking at you like that.
And now, he kisses you in all sorts of ways.
He kisses you deep when you bid him goodnight after driving him home, his hand cradling the back of your neck and raising goosebumps on your skin. He kisses you soft, barely a peck on the lips when he passes by you in the living room to make more coffee as you scribble down in your notebook.
He kisses you sweet—his mouth smiling against yours as he cradles your face with his hands, like you’re something precious. You’re standing in his balcony, smoking, and he leans in to steal the smoke from your lungs. You let him.
And he kisses you hot and messy, like that time on Monday when he cornered you against the boxes of paperwork in the storage room and bit your lip until you pushed him back, panting. We’re on the clock, detective, you had hissed, and Harry had smiled at you with that half-feverish look in his eyes, almost shining, and winked.
