Yoshiki was silent. I’m not sick. Or at least that's what he wanted to believe. He had the impression there were a million eyes staring at him from out the window, and another million eyes sprouting from the walls, a watermelon made only of seeds.

Yoshiki blinked.
Hikaru’s voice was quiet in a steadfast, gentle way. “Long as you stay by my side, I’ll keep you safe. I’ll consume whatever tries to take you from me.”
