Summary
In an act of unrivalled stupidity, a group of cultivators, led by the Lan and Jiang sects attack Hanguang-Jun and Lan Sizhui in the hope grief will give them a shot at the Yilling Louzu. Spoiler alert: it doesn't.
Desperate to stop the demonic cultivator destroying their world in (well-deserved) revenge, Nie Huaisang suggests time travel as a way to fix everything. He promptly discovers that the Yilling Louzu is not willing to do the work for him.

Wei Ying let out a laugh, turning his head to meet Lan Zhan’s gaze - the same glint in his eyes. A glint that said they need to suffer, they need to be punished, their actions will no longer be tolerated.
He leaned back, making himself comfortable in Lan Zhan’s arms as they wrapped around his waist.
“We’re going to kill Wen Ruohan.” Wen Qing’s gaze didn’t change.
“And then?”
A smirk crossed Wei Ying’s face.
“You don’t get it, Qing-jie. We’re going to kill Wen Ruohan, and not tell a single soul that he is dead."

Summary
So. The other thing Wei Ying had come to learn over the past two weeks was how his hero-worship (Jiang Cheng’s phrase) of the war hero Hanguang-jun, had changed into a flaming lust for Lan Wangji, only to be rudely surprised to find the lust was just a small subset of a massive and almost overwhelming at times crush on his current night hunting partner. He honestly thought he’d done well, though, keeping all that to himself, and then his big, fat mouth had said, “I want to stay with you,” with the slightest bit of plaintive whine, if Wei Ying was being ungenerous.
OR: A night hunting road trip (that Wei Ying is not supposed to be on) with his childhood hero (who is now a DILF). Absolutely nothing embarrassing or wrong or heartbreaking can happen here. Nope.
