Summary
A hand rests on his shoulder a moment after he tucks his metal water bottle into his bag and he freezes as something cold trickles down his spine at the voice.
“Can you stay behind a moment?” The man asks. “I need to review something with you.”
The word No is on his tongue, but rather than fighting to escape his mouth, it feels heavy, coating the inside like the bitter taste after a restless nap. Changkyun swallows back saliva and nods silently, hands stilling in their action before he turns to press his back against the wall, sliding down.
As his eyes wander over the room, he makes eye contact with Hyungwon. The other man doesn’t look away when they meet by chance and Changkyun stares until a foreign feeling creeps up on him and he turns his head away. When he glances back for a moment again, Hyungwon is halfway to the door.
changkyun, less than a year after debuting, still finds himself on the outskirts of a group of strangers he's supposed to consider family. things change when they start to notice he has something to hide, while changkyun desperately struggles to keep his web of lies from unravelling.
