    Pansy gasped as Neville’s knees gave out from under him and the tall, dark man fell. She managed to reach forward and pull his head towards her body so at least that cushioned some of his fall even as she was pulled down right alongside him.
    Neville had lost all color as his eyes refused to focus on her and just stared at the open sky up above.
    “What’s happening?” Pansy cried out as blood began to seep out of the corners of Neville’s mouth.
    “Vitam meam vi te nunc regere.” Neville whispered as shots of electricity coasted through his veins. “Sine te, ego sum nihil.”
    “My life force, you now control.” Pansy translated the first part but the second half she couldn’t understand. “What do you mean, Longbottom?”
    “Sine te, ego sum nihil.” Neville Longbottom proclaimed softly as his eyes closed as a black ooze replaced his rapidly depleting blood.
    “No,” Pansy sobbed as she clutched the wizard to her. “What did I do? What did I do?”
