Yang and Blake were unlikely friends. One was a boisterous huntress with a knack for chaos wherever she went, the other was a quiet, sarcastic, bibliophile who kept herself reclused to her cottage in the middle of the forest. Practically night and day, yet somehow, something just clicked between them.
Even as the days grew shorter, and more and more grimm awoke under the moonless nights, Yang wouldn't let monsters in the dark deter her from seeing the mysterious woman with hair the color of midnight and eyes made of gold.

Summary
Yang has a bit of a reputation for sometimes pushing a little further than she probably should, and Weiss would be wincing if it didn’t seem as if Blake was enjoying this. There’s no real annoyance in her tone, gait light and clear as she argues back and forth, now going for a shove of her own. Actually, she looks—well. Happy to be arguing in the first place.
They’re partners—of course they’re bound to be close—but this suddenly seems different in some way. Weiss thinks, huh.
Yang dodges the counterattack and adds, “Plus, you’d miss me if I stopped.”
She might have won after all. Blake doesn’t seem to have a reply, and they continue on in silence. Weiss catches the barest glimpse of Yang’s smug smile as she turns her head, warm and far too pleased with herself to be healthy. Blake never denies it, and as they continue on, Yang’s smile only grows wider.
Huh, indeed.

"When Blake gets her first serious boyfriend Sun gets sympathetic pats on the shoulder and promises she'll come around eventually. He hopes so, but not for the reasons people think."
Blake is is soulmate, there's no doubt about that in Sun's mind, and if you ask Blake she'll give you the exact same answer. But the idea of kissing her, of dating her, leaves him fidgety and uncomfortable, like sitting in front of a mirror and watching yourself make out with your hand. Or something. Blake's the wordsmith out of the two of them, he'll ask her for a better analogy at some point. That's why they're soulmates after all; they make each other the best, happiest versions of themselves. Sun just wishes everybody didn't think that meant they had to be in love.

“I could have taken it,” she says, a smirk that matches Blake’s spreading across her face. Yang takes everything she’d thought last night back; she does think they’ll be able to get along. Very well.
Blake snorts- the sound is surprisingly cute, another side of her that Yang aches to unlock. “Oh,” she says, hooking her weapon to her back in a clean motion, “I believe you.”
That’s when they really meet.

Blake starts. Her heart stutters and maybe she dies for a moment, but then it restarts; blood beginning to boil, throat closing up, ears flattening, then pricking forward, then flattening again. “Why didn’t you?”
