Luke and Leia had never met their father. Uncle Owen said he was a hero, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the old man down the street, told them war stories. He'd been ‘Missing In Action’ for 20 years, all evidence pointed towards him being dead. What could have prepared them for him to show up at The Skywalker farm a week after the war ended? Anakin, with his intense gaze, tells them where he's been. Luke and Anakin form a unique bond, grown of desperation, misplaced affection and naivety.
