“That used to be my armchair.”
Jason tilted his head curiously at the chair he had so viciously claimed as his. He’d defended it well in his youth; a terrified, angry child, eager to have something that was his. Bruce and Alfred had respected it of course, it was the one chair in the whole manor that was never tidied up or whose mess resulted in a lecture. He could pile as many rumpled blankets, stolen brunch bars and stacks of books onto it as he liked.
Bruce used to affectionately call it Jason’s nest.
“You never tidied it up after I died.”

“You killed him!” Naomi, terrible Spanish accent learnt from the soap operas that Sally is now rather regretting allowing her to watch, accuses. “The man I married, the love of my life, is dead because of you!”
For a moment, the train cabin is silent. Sally, absolutely mortified, prays to all the saints whose names she can remember that the vigilantes just decide to leave, but they instead sit there silently, staring at her granddaughter from behind their motionless masks.
Then, Nightwing swings around in his seat to pin Red Hood with an outraged look.
“You killed my husband?!”

The jokes about Batman’s seemingly endless utility belt started when he first joined the Justice League, and have only evolved since.
Several newer recruits are absolutely under the impression that Batman is secretly a meta with hammerspace. Nobody’s encouraged it, but nobody’s discouraging it either, whether it’s out of silent belief or for entertainment.
Kon jokes, too, because there’s nothing stopping him. The material is right there and as long as nobody gets too outrageous, they can fuck with the bats by pretending their belts are more astounding than they are.

Hosea took another drink of his beer next to him, eyes cast across the lake and Arthur followed, watching the early evening insects skit across the surface. Just waiting to be eaten by the swirls of fish flitting through the waters below them.
Hosea broke the silence, “You seem...Happier recently.”
Arthur didn’t know how to respond for a brief moment, so he stumbled over a couple of vowels before Hosea’s laugh was settling him and he said slowly, “I suppose I am? Nothing much though.”
Hosea’s eyes didn’t leave the rhythmic lapping of the lake against the dock, but the way his mouth curled, Arthur knew that he was about to be perhaps a bit too smart.

Summary
Tuberculosis doesn't kill Arthur. Neither does Micah Bell. After the events of RDR2, a seriously injured and sick Arthur follows the advice of his physician to "get somewhere dry, and warm" and travels west to the state of Argent, where he finds work on a sheep farm and undergoes a risky operation to combat his illness. Meanwhile, Charles hears about what happened to the gang after his departure. Restless, unable to gain closure, and in desperate need of money, Charles begins taking local prizefighting matches, eventually moving west to the mining town of Comstock in northern Argent. Eventually, their paths will cross.
Tl;dr: Arthur's sick. Charles is sad. There's a lot of boxing, a lot of pining, a blowjob, fake history, and love.

There are many things, it seems, that Arthur never told him. About his hopes. His fears. About how heavily the weight of the gang crushed down on his shoulders. About the bright moments he found out there in the wilds, helping and befriending random strangers just because he could. The strange phenomena he saw and dutifully noted in his journal, then never spoke of again. There is so much, John realises, that he never knew about his brother, because he never asked.
But really, out of all the mysteries in Arthur’s life, this one seems like a pretty big deal to not goddamn mention.

Arthur had been riding with Dutch and Hosea for near on four months now, and sure, he liked 'em well enough. But he just couldn't work them out.
He’d thought at first that they were brothers, before he’d overheard enough conversations to disprove that theory. He didn’t have any real basis for how brothers acted with each other, of course, but… They were just… just real comfortable with each other.
More comfortable than Arthur could imagine being with anyone who wasn’t family.
Not that he had a whole lot of experience on that count either…
Or, Arthur is more oblivious than Dutch and Hosea gave him credit for, but he gets there eventually.

Arthur really isn't one for one night flings - especially not with men. But there must have been something about this man from the saloon that really caught his eye, to take him back to bed with him. Course, it was reckless, but it ain't like he'll be running into his again any time soon. After they meet this new potential recruit, they will be heading up to their latest settlement for the winter and he can just keep this night how it currently was - just a hazy, but fun memory.
