Summary
It’s a CRT television, the kind with buttons that control everything down at the bottom. Usually, you don’t use a light to find the buttons. You just run your hand along the bottom until you find the first one. That’s the power button. The TV itself is a bit broken. The antenna has a piece of cloth holding it in place, and there’s a small crack at the bottom of the screen that you only really notice when the TV is on. Still, you got it for free from a neighbor. And despite the wear and tear, he works like a charm. Tenna, they called him. It felt weird to call the TV by the name at first, but soon enough it became second nature.
Reader got an old busted CRT TV from a couple of teenagers and is really starting to love it. Though, as they fall asleep, they slip into the Dark World. [Alternate universe where the Dark World doesn't have to be reached through a fountain and just kinda exists separate from the Light World.]

Summary
Humans can make out patterns out of nothing. Like discovering shapes in the cloud, or images between the stars. If you listen to static noise long enough they start to form meaningful words, even when there isn’t any.
This is the closest approximation to how Ichiji feels things.
It is almost fascinating, then, for him, to watch Sanji, who seems to feel everything with his entire being, so visceral and open and raw.

This was brilliant! Truly ahead of it's time!
Really loved to see Ichiji trying to understand emotions and his thoughts for the canon events. It is intriguing how he calls Sanji a mistake not out of intentional malice but as explaining a simple fact. And this is further proved by how he also looks at his own mistakes the same way- he's not making excuses for himself.
The detached way he looks at everything is written so well and so interesting. He had no real agency in his life. Not just hollowed out of emotions but even his sense of self too. If they were to be free from Judge, it's still gonna be so tough for them. Especially how here Ichiji doesn't really know why he does things. His only purpose had been to please his father.
His buried emotions... his tears at his mother's death... :(
For Ichiji to be able to smile for once at the end... perhaps it was because of the new revelation that he could perhaps do what he wanted. (Losing agency is a sure way to misery, he had been living in miserable conditions, but not understanding it, that's so tragic. In reality he probably still cannot do what he wants, even after this new revelation, not until he is truly free.)

Summary
If you had told Sanji even a month prior that he would be seeing his birth family again, he would have laughed at you. If you had told him a month ago that, upon meeting his birth family, his brothers would not only not be violent with him, but would go through the effort of wrangling him into an honest-to-god nest and would cuddle him half to death, he would have caved your skull in and then laughed at you.
Sadly, he wasn’t given such a kind warning, and God had a sick and twisted sense of humor.

I read through this story and it didn't feel like a story of over 140,000 words. That is a good thing because it goes to show how immersed I was with it. No line feels wasted, every one intentional, the banter and the characterisations are all amazing. Even the OCs are likeable, antagonists with believable motivations. I can't believe it has come to an end. But it was good that I found it after it's complete so I didn't need to wait.
The new Death Note game was what made me think about Death Note again. I honestly have a new found appreciation for Near and Light. Though I used to like Light the most (When I first read DN), it had become L then after reading this I think it's Near...
