Izuku wanted to cry but for the first time in a very long time, his tear reserves had been used up completely. He took out his phone instinctively and started scrolling through his and Shouto’s texts. Late night messages and calls, laughter from not so long ago rang in his head with promises and voices from a haunted past.
If only he had been there was his boyfriend, if only he had been quicker, better, stronger. Maybe if he hadn’t left, Shouto wouldn’t have gone away forever.
This is a fic inspired by Camouflage by Selena Gomez. I know that this is probably not the context in which the song was written, but I love me some angst and emotional damage so here we are.
