Summary
Izuku wanted to cry but for the first time in a very long time, his tear reserves had been used up completely. He took out his phone instinctively and started scrolling through his and Shouto’s texts. Late night messages and calls, laughter from not so long ago rang in his head with promises and voices from a haunted past.
If only he had been there was his boyfriend, if only he had been quicker, better, stronger. Maybe if he hadn’t left, Shouto wouldn’t have gone away forever.
This is a fic inspired by Camouflage by Selena Gomez. I know that this is probably not the context in which the song was written, but I love me some angst and emotional damage so here we are.

This is, by far, THE BEST lads polycule story here. Hats off, i've had to literally take SO MANY breaks while reading this because i got deeply emotional in a lot of places. Justice done to literally all our pookies, my goodness. The writing style is captivating, honestly, and just... so, so good. The art is scrumptious too (drools like caleb did when he-)
Yeah, no, amazing fic. 11/10 would re-read again and again.

This is such a weird feeling. I've never - super rare, if ever - cried during a 90% smut fic. Like... i'm not sure what exactly it is about this particular story, but it took me way too long to read purely because of how many times i teared up and had to take a break. Probably the way Caleb's spiraling thoughts have been written, maybe because he is a lovestruck, desperate, yearning fool who's helplessness makes me cry on the regular... maybe it's the bittersweet feeling of knowing that despite all that worship and devotion and love, he himself is struggling with accepting his feelings.
But anyhow, wild ride, 11/10 would re-read it every chance i get. And will cry. Again. Crazy, really.

He’s going crazy. He must be. He’s imagined smells before, the most random things at random times, but he’s never sensed them this vividly, like he could reach out and touch the alpha, taste the chocolate and orange all the way on the back of his tongue—
