All Tony knew was one second, he was upright, reaching his hand out to open the cabinet, and then Peter was screaming, barreling into him with enough force to send them both slamming into the wall and knocking the breath out of him completely.
A loud explosion rang through his ears and the roof of the building came crashing down over them. It rained a cloud of dust and debris so thick, Tony immediately started choking on it. Peter’s body was on top of his, shielding him from a majority of the falling debris, the kid’s hands were on top of Tony’s head, keeping him as covered as possible.

It must be a cruel joke or something, because it wasn’t the first time he had nightmares, he knew how to manage them. And usually, he would simply mention it to May, or even Ned. Because it was never that serious, never that impacting. But now that he could feel the phantom weight of the building crumbling over him, he knew it was worse.

“I’m worried kid, why you up at 2am?”
Peter shrugged, something akin to shame filling him.
“Peter,” Mr Stark warned.
“I had a nightmare,” the boy whispered as he shuffled uncomfortably under the blankets. He wondered if Mr Stark would scoff and kick him out, telling the teen that he was too old to be suffering from nightmares.
But Mr Stark didn’t do any of what Peter feared. Instead, he stretched out a hand and ran his fingers through Peter’s curls, teasing the strands and undoing the knots. “You want to talk about it?”
Peter has a nightmare about Homecoming and Tony is there to help him through it.

Peter tried to close his eyes but the man tapped his face until he opened his eyes.
“Hey, kid. I asked you your name. C’mon Sleeping Beauty, wakey wakey time! Hey, Doc, what the fuck did you give him?”“Relax, relax,” the man tried to soothe as he kept him held down, “I’m savin’ you. What’s your name kid?”
“P-” Speaking made Peter’s throat burn, but he pushed himself, both figuratively and literally, but once again he couldn’t physically sit up with the older man stopping him, “Pe- Peter…”
“P’ter,” Peter could feel himself starting to fade again, he was so tired, why wasn’t this man letting him sleep? “P’rker.”
