He’s being brave tonight; has left his leg draped over Jason far longer than he’d first anticipated, had kissed him in the shadows of the carpark of the burger joint they were at earlier, had slipped his hand under the covers to hold Jason’s hip earlier while they both woke up from a late afternoon nap.

“Master Rayner.”
Still nonplussed, Kyle sits up on the floor and clears his throat. “Good morning,” he greets tentatively.
Alfred nods and says, “You’re welcome to join breakfast; it’s only just started. If you’d be so kind to get Master Jason downstairs, he still shouldn’t be putting pressure on his ankle.”
“Sure,” he agrees because well, what else can he say? When Alfred leaves the room, Kyle groans excessively and hits his forehead on the mattress a few times for good measure. “Can I scramble my brain to get rid of embarrassment?”
“No, you will have to live with it,” Jason answers cheerfully.
...
Kyle wanted to spend a romantic evening with Jason, but instead, he ends up having breakfast with his family.
Surprisingly, it's not completely a disaster.

Summary
Jason himself seems to be caught off guard, the paper bag he has clenched in one arm slipping slightly as he catches sight of Kyle, though Kyle doesn’t know if that’s because he’s shocked to see Kyle himself or if because Kyle really looks as bad as he feels.
“You look terrible, Rayner.” Is what he says, when he finally composed himself, and Kyle just crosses his arms and tries to miss the pinching feeling in his ribs as he does so.
